Stained glass heritage combined with modern construction standards.

Stained glass has been around for centuries. It has a long and beautiful history in the homes and churches and cathedrals of Europe and the United States. However, today’s building standards are much more stringent than the past. We have building codes and warranties that must be adhered to in modern life.

For these reasons, Stained Glass Dallas combines the age old stained glass traditions with modern materials and new construction standards for a product that represents the past, but holds to modern standards. Stained glass construction is essentially unchanged from the way it originated: each piece of glass is still cut by hand, assembled by hand, and held in place by lead caming that was also cut by hand to exact size.

When our stained glass window panels are constructed, they are soldered at the joints and then hand polished. All these steps follow the methods of stained glass construction that have always been. But we deviate from the ancient tradition in a couple of key places.

Our patterns are done with a computer program, for the utmost accuracy. After all, we are fitting a new stained glass piece into your existing window, and it has to fit. It simply cannot be a quarter of an inch too big or too small. It must be exact, and the CAD program not only ensures that – it also allows us to show you a rendering of what your finished stained glass piece will look like.

Another aspect of stained glass construction that has changed is in some of the materials we use today. Of course, our 600 colors of glass all come from the highest quality manufacturers. On top of that, we use special dark leads, hidden solder joints, a very precise soldering temperature, our own unique polishing process, and our own special installation methods.

When it comes to installation, we do not remove your existing pane of glass and insert the stained glass panel. That would expose the new stained glass to the elements and although it is built to last, why put it in possible harm’s way? Instead, we use a special technique that bonds it right to your existing glass. Our trained installers are careful not to do anything that might void the warranty on your windows, if they are new enough that they are still under warranty.

And we are careful that any window installations we do are up to code, so your building is not in any code violations. Safety, security, practicality, and the most beautiful windows in the world!
